Just remember...

...seeds really do just want to grow. A bit of moisture and some warmth is all they need.

Even when the moisture is from a trip through the washing machine and the warmth is from the airing cupboard. Yes, these kale seeds spent a few days in the dark germinating, before I discovered them in my gardening trousers after having sown most of their little friends at the allotment the week before. Oops. Still, it makes a change from tissues in the pockets.

Have not seen this method recommended in the gardening tomes yet HM :) The survival instinct is amazing. I found some nasturtiums that had germinated at the bottom of a pile of four pots at the allotment last week . They must have sat in there all winter - no compost but still they have come through.

You have discovered a new method for hard to germinate seeds - how clever.
A few days in a plastic bag in a warm pocket followed by a soapy wash and a few days in the airing cupboard.
Of course if you forget about them a plant climbing out of your trouser would be a strong reminder!

I see a publishing opportunity here - "101 novel ways to germinate plants". Just 100 more ways to find.
